We're hiring an Executive Director

Job Description

The Executive Director will lead London Cycle Link’s operations and play a key role in shaping the cycling culture in London, Ontario.

The Executive Director is responsible for implementing the organization’s strategic plan and for overseeing all programs and administrative duties. This role is highly collaborative—reporting directly to the Board of Directors, supporting volunteer committees and leading a small staff team. The Executive Director takes initiative and is a flexible leader, taking on a variety of roles such as: grant writer & fundraiser, volunteer & events coordinator, media spokesperson, community connector, and cycling advocate.

This role is well suited to an individual who can build collaborative relationships with staff, volunteers, businesses, community organizations, and various levels of government; an individual who thrives on autonomy and can balance competing priorities while understanding the foundations of project management.

The Executive Director is the primary spokesperson for London Cycle Link and must be comfortable speaking with the media on the organization’s behalf, managing advocacy-based messaging across all platforms, and tactfully fielding criticism the organization may face. As the public face of London Cycle Link, the Executive Director understands how to compose effective messaging and how to take intentional actions, while appreciating that meaningful and purposeful change doesn't happen overnight.

London Cycle Link actively seeks staff who reflect the diverse community it serves. Individuals typically underrepresented in the cycling industry are encouraged to apply. This includes (but is not limited to) individuals who identify as queer, trans, persons of colour, Indigenous persons, women, persons living with disabilities and/or with mental health variations.
