HOW IT WORKS
Fix Your Bike
Bring your bike in, anytime we’re open. Fill the bike assessment sheet, and take note of the estimated time commitment. Lift the bike onto one of our repair stands, and use our tools to fix it.
If you’re a self-sufficient bike mechanic, you may pay the regular stand time rate or buy any one of our membership tiers to receive member benefits; your choice.
If you’re not self-sufficient and need the extra help hands-on or verbal, we’ll have you buy a membership. This way, you can count on direct assistance from staff or volunteers.
The regular stand time rate is $20/hour. Members receive discounted or free stand time and other benefits, per our membership tiers. New and used spare parts are available for sale when needed.
Finances tight? Don’t worry, we have pay-what-you-can and pay-it-forward systems. Just ask our shop manager.
Please note, we are not able to service the electrical components of e-bikes at this time, nor do we work with suspension fluids or tubeless tire sealants.
Buy Bikes, Parts and Accessories
We have a selection of used bikes that have been tuned-up and safety-checked, and are ready to ride! Most adult bikes cost from $100 to $400, while kids bikes are generally $20 to $150, depending on the quality and condition. There’s about one freshly-refurbished bike every day!
New parts and accessories are available for sale. Members get 15% off on these.
We sell used parts at flexible pricing. Our staff or volunteers will give you a price if parts are not labelled.
If you’re wondering if we currently have a bike in your size and style, or a bike part you’re looking to replace, call or come in to ask.
Attend Workshops and Events
We host workshops and community events at Squeaky Wheel. Here are some recurring ones.
Volunteer Night
Every Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m., this afterhours event welcomes members in good standing who have a skillset and time to give and have been greenlit by Volunteer Night leads. Volunteer Night is reserved for working on bikes that are to be sold at the co-op, sorting donated parts and accessories, and tidying up for the next business day.
Previously, this event was for anyone interested in building mechanic skills—dedicated volunteer mechanics were paired up with trainees. More recently, to ensure that resources are allocated well during the valuable afterhours, we’ve changed our model and opt for pre-screening for availability and skill. If you’re interested in joining us for Volunteer Night sometime, talk to the leads Ian and Trevor during business hours, or email Laura at lgd@londoncyclelink.ca to inquire further.
WTF Bike Repair Workshop
Once a month on a Sunday, the co-op’s learning environment becomes female-and-genderqueer-led, serving the mirroring populations. If this sounds like the type of space you need while learning fixing your bike, read on.
Gears Concert Series
Once a month. More info coming soon.
Repair and Riding Skill Workshops
We announce workshops on social media (Facebook and Instagram), via Chain Mail and on Basecamp. Some past workshops are also available online, as is information about some past programs: Bikes for Newcomers and Free Rides.
GET INVOLVED

Volunteer
Squeaky Wheel Bike Co-op relies on volunteers to help fix bikes for sale, help users with their repairs, plan events and workshops, do outreach in the community, and stay on top of London’s bike needs. Can you help? Stop by or email squeakywheel@londoncyclelink.ca.
