You can speak at the next Strategic Priorities and Policy Committee meeting in Council Chambers, 3rd floor at City Hall. Council is deliberating on the next 4 years of the City’s budget, so it’s important to have your voice heard now!
Since many people will speaking to different priorities, it would be helpful to have many voices sharing why investing more in cycling is important to you and other Londoners. It doesn’t have to be long, or detailed, simply tell the Councillors why you want London to cater to people on bikes more than they are now.
The specifics:
Introduce yourself before you speak. You will have up to 5 minutes to share your story with City Council
The meeting starts at 6pm and goes until all speakers have had a chance to speak. If you want to speak early, the upper microphones are usually your best bet
We’re asking London to build 40 km of all ages and abilities (AAA) bike routes to encourage our fellow citizens to ride in safety, and for the hire of a cycling and walking manager at City Hall. If you want to find out more about our campaign, read this.
We have been meeting with councillors in person and participating in the budget process, but right now, the Safe Streets campaign has not been adopted into Council’s agenda, and we will need a push to get it there. Come speak to Council on the 13th! Let your councillor know why investing more in cycling is important to you!
